By Sara period 4
R: The best word to describe Bella the main character in my book is understanding as shown in the following two details.
Q: " I decided it didn't matter..."
S: (Twilight. pg, 184)
C1: Bella is trying to convince Edward he can tell her the truth on what he is. She is trying to explain that it doesn't matter if he is a vampire.
C2: This shows Bella is understanding because, she isn't going to judge him if he is a vampire.
R: The second quote to show Bella is understanding.
Q: "So am I, I told you is doesn't matter what you are."
S: (Twilight. pg, 190)
C1: Bella won't give up on telling Edward she doesn't care if hes a vampire.
C2: Bella wants Edward to know she understands if he is a vampire. She won't stop being friends with him because of it.

Lutton, great question. Most kids have finished a booktalk or two in their logbooks. Their assignment (and yours too) is to do your booktalk on your website (complete with artwork). Here are a few links to some kids that did great booktalks to help you as examples. Start a blog on your site so I can comment on your site too. Let me know if you have any other questions! Mr. Mauel

Maddy 4th period
It was a game of chicken. (TS) Five boys seeing how brave we could be(CM)... how far we could swim under water before turning and swimming back(CD). We dove into the blackness(CM). The view under the logs took my breath away(CM) – breath I knew I could not afford to give up(CD). Louvers of silver light slanted down between the logs(CM). Illuminated in sections the dark water, the fish that now looked strangely metallic, the sand at the bottom that now sparkled like something suddenly very valuable(CM). The river water was warm, like oil(CD). I intentionally swam to the bottom (CD). I liked feeling how cool the river bottom was compared to the surface.(CM) I thought the feeling of sand along my stomach would make the seconds go by faster… help me calibrate how far I had traveled (CM). I swam with my lips shut tight.(CD) I did not want to run out of air(CM). Slanting sheets of light told me the logs were still bundled tight fifteen to twenty feet above my
